Can humans and dragons have children together? If so, what would happen if you and Katherine found out she was expecting?

"Dragons breeding together produce eggs. Cross-breeding only produces dragons, but the eggshell is omitted from the process. Standard mammal birth, with softer scales to go easier on mother's birth canal. some soft tissues not yet fixed in place. Scales harden over minutes following birth, a bit like human infant's, erm... fontanel, I believe is the term - but faster. Much, much faster. Genetic inheritance from non-draconic parent is usually cosmetic or immune: eye color, some scale color variances, inborn disease resistances...

Katherine is long-lived, her immune system has seen much, fought against much. The most recent resistances would enter genetic memory, make job easier on pediatricians for vaccines.

Same pregnancy length as humans, all things considered. Nine months average, unless complications arise. Premature or delayed birth can happen, but wouldn't be caused by hybrid's nature. Standard risks of any pregnancy.

Our whelp would grow at the same rate as human child. It would be sentient, but incapable of magic use for several years. All dragons come into their magic long before coming of age. Bipedal shape can then be assumed. Speech becomes possible. The child would learn English long before being able to physically speak it."
