What if the Hopeverse had something like its Batman figure, but with a twist?
I was thinking of the basic premise of Batman as a character, to start with: rich guy with severe issues and a tendency to coat them with a playboy's debaucheries, right? In any serious circumstances, people would've caught on that and maybe directed him to a shrink from a very early age. In the Hopeverse, this would-be vigilante wouldn't be a vigilante. He'd be a rich burnout, a nobody with a TMZ-worthy face.
The catch is that someone in his entourage would have the ability to tap into the guy's fortune and use it to further their own ambitions as a vigilante. Someone nobody would suspect could be a superhero of some kind, either through powers, tech or plain old training. Even that person's background wouldn't give it away.
Someone like the butler, the gardener, the personal chauffeur - one guy in all the people nobody notices because they're stuck orbiting around The Corporation's Walking Money Teats that has trouble making it to boardroom meetings. Everything would point to the burnout - but the rich heir's not in any sort of shape to deck criminals in hand-to-hand combat!
Seems like that would be a perfect alter ego for the most elusive "classic" superhero. One of the "shadow people" around the rich douchebag. Someone nobody ever notices or considers.
A stupid idea...

I think it could be a good idea for one of Hope's earlier superheroes.
