Japanese Giant Hornets

The largest hornet species on earth. Hugely territorial, very cranky, and prone to attacking in swarms. Their venom eats through skin and flesh to dissolve the blood in one's body. Rumors abound of nests being found here in America.

And wouldn't it just be fun if some enterprising supervillain here in Hope thought they could weaponize these little beasties? Them or African killer bees, whichever.
